Tutima Glashütte Introduces the Patria in Rose Gold with New Manufacture Caliber

In its 99th year, Tutima Glashütte unveils two new limited editions of the elegant Patria, each restricted to just nine pieces. Housed in rose gold, the watches introduce a newly developed hand-wound manufacture movement whose more open architecture places greater emphasis on the finishing of the caliber.

Sophisticated gold dress watches paired with finely crafted manufacture movements have been part of Glashütte’s watchmaking tradition for more than 180 years. With the Patria collection, Tutima Glashütte has been interpreting this heritage in a contemporary form for several years. Now, not long until the brand’s centenary in 2027, the German manufacture expands the line with two especially exclusive versions featuring a redesigned movement architecture.

Both special editions are housed in 43mm cases crafted from 18k rose gold and measure 11.2mm in height. The case design retains the collection’s distinctive curved crown protection and is topped by a domed sapphire crystal. Customers can choose between a silver-plated dial and a matte anthracite-gray version. Both emphasize the understated elegance traditionally associated with Glashütte dress watches. Hand-finished and polished gold hands, applied hour markers, and an unusually large small-seconds scale define the balanced dial layout. Hand-stitched alligator leather straps in brown or anthracite complete the elegant charisma.

A New Caliber with a More Open View

The centerpiece of the new editions is the hand-wound manufacture caliber Tutima 626. In a notable departure from Glashütte tradition, the movement replaces the classic three-quarter plate with a smaller half-plate construction. Decorated with broad horizontal striping, the redesigned layout opens up the view deep into the gear train. The minute, center-wheel, and seconds wheels feature polished countersinks and beveled spokes, while the open-worked balance cock reveals the free-sprung balance with handmade Breguet overcoil. A newly skeletonized double bridge further exposes the escape and seconds wheels. Two of the movement’s 21 jewels are set in screwed gold chatons, adding flashes of ruby red to the movement. All bevels are hand-finished and the screw heads polished by hand. Because of the reduced plate size, several engravings and inscriptions have been relocated to the base plate and ratchet wheel, including the power reserve indication.

The manually wound caliber delivers a power reserve of at least 65 hours and operates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour.

The two limited editions differ not only in dial color but also in the visual treatment of the movement. The lighter version combines warm gold tones with traditional contrasts, while the anthracite model creates a more contemporary appearance through darkened movement surfaces paired with gold-colored components.
