A Feast for the Eyes: Chanel J12 Diamond Tourbillon

With its J12 Diamond Tourbillon watch, Chanel once again underscores its expertise in the field of grand complications. As the name suggests, the highlight of the hand-wound caliber, manufactured in-house in La Chaux-de-Fonds, is a flying tourbillon, a first for the manufacture. A circular cutout in the pitch-black dial showcases the filigree mechanism in all its beauty. Particularly fascinating is the solitaire diamond enthroned on the tourbillon cage. Rotating to the rhythm of the seconds, it creates an almost hypnotic effect.

Located above is the display of hours and minutes, which are indicated by diamond-set hands. The crown is adorned with another diamond. The design of this exquisite J12 bears the signature of Arnaud Chastaingt, Director of the Chanel Watchmaking Creation Studio based in Paris. In keeping with the line's codes, it appears in a ceramic case that measures 38mm in diameter. The J12 Diamond Tourbillon is limited to 55 pieces and retails for approximately $105,000 when converted to USD.
