Sage Green and Midnight Blue: Girard-Perregaux Adds Two Beautiful Colorways to Laureato 38mm

Since its introduction in 1975, the Laureato from Girard-Perregaux has been a staple among the luxury sports watches. One of the most iconic timepieces in the Swiss watchmaking brand's collection, it is known for its integrated bracelet design, where the bracelet flows seamlessly into the case, and the signature octagonal bezel. Sitting atop a circular plinth that rests upon the angular tonneau-shaped case it creates a geometric contrast to the smooth round shape of the dial. The bezel is polished to a high sheen, contributing to the watch’s overall sophisticated look. The stainless steel case with a water-resistance of 100 meters features a balanced mix of satin and polished finishes that enhance its refined appearance.

Now, the time-honored brand from La Chaux-de-Fonds adds two new 38mm- stainless steel executions to the line-up with a slender height of 10.02 mm. They boast a sage green or midnight blue dial. These beautiful color ways enhance the signature hob nail guilloche pattern that has been a hallmark of the Laureato from the beginning. When Girard-Perregaux selected these dial hues, it gave much consideration to the light’ interaction with the case and bracelet. From some angles, the sage green dial appears gray, whereas the midnight blue dial sometimes assumes an intense shade of royal blue.

Also in line with the Laureato DNA is the small date indication at 3 o'clock that is color-coordinated with the dial hues and the baton type indexes and hands that are coated with luminescent material for readability in the dark. On the green dial, the GP logo and central seconds hand are gold plated, while the blue version displays a monochromatic color scheme. Both are beautiful in their own right.

The same rings true for the manufacture caliber GP03300-2476 with a power reserve of 46 hours. Made at the company’s production facility in La Chaux-de-Fonds, it features a pink gold oscillating weight adorned with circular Geneva Waves. Additional movement refinements include bevelling, mirror-polished screws, circular graining on the main plate and engraved gilded text.
