Panerai Unveils the First-Ever 40mm Luminor GMT Ceramica PAM01460

The iconic Luminor line enters into a new era with its first 40mm ceramic model, blending Italian design and Swiss precision in a compact, high-tech form.

Panerai expands the boundaries of its celebrated Luminor collection with the introduction of the new Luminor GMT Ceramica PAM01460 — the first model to combine a 40mm Luminor case with the brand’s high-performance ceramic, a material that Panerai first employed in 2007 with the Radiomir Black Seal Ceramica PAM00292. Known for its lightweight, scratch-resistant, and corrosion-proof properties, sandblasted black ceramic has become integral to Panerai’s contemporary design language. The smaller size represents a technical milestone, combining reduced dimensions with the brand’s distinctive cushion shape, integrated crown-protection bridge, and robust water resistance of up to 30 bar (approximately 300 meters).

The PAM01460 presents a monochromatic, matte-black composition that exudes understated strength and contemporary refinement. Its signature black sun-brushed sandwich dial features luminous Arabic numerals and hour markers filled with white Super-LumiNova X2, ensuring superior legibility in low-light conditions. The “BiTempo” inscription — Italian for “dual time” — marks the GMT function, which is displayed via the central 12-hour hand.

Inside the 40mm case beats the automatic P.900/GMT caliber, a compact and reliable movement engineered entirely within Panerai’s Manufacture in Neuchâtel. Operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, the movement offers a three-day power reserve stored in a single barrel and features a stop-second mechanism for precise time-setting. The smoked sapphire crystal case back reveals its finely finished details.

The Luminor GMT Ceramica PAM01460 is supplied with both a black calfskin strap and a black rubber strap, each equipped with the PAM Click Release System. Pricing is marked at $15,800 excl. sales tax.
