A Fresh Look for Summer: Doxa’s SUB 200 Returns with a Clean Polished Steel Bezel

"The devil is in the details," the saying goes. It rings particularly true for the realm of high-end watches, where thoughtful proportions, harmonious colors, and materials that feel just right make all the difference. In this sense, the latest SUB 200 release from Doxa stands apart by refining rather than reinventing. The storied Swiss brand, long revered for its dive watch legacy, reintroduces it with a polished steel bezel, a first for the popular diver's watch. The material choice lends it a brighter, more contemporary appearance while preserving the technical DNA and tool-watch charisma that made it sought-after among divers' and vintage watch enthusiasts alike.

Doxa has been careful not to frame this launch as a replacement. The steel bezel is an expansion, not a divergence. It allows for a broader expression of personality, something increasingly important to collectors and casual buyers alike. Whether a wearer gravitates toward the traditional, vintage-leaning look of the sapphire insert or the sleeker sheen of polished steel, the underlying watch remains unchanged. Crafted from stainless steel 316L, the 42mm case has a water-resistance rating of 200 meters. At its heart ticks a self-winding movement based on the Sellita SW200 with a frequency of 28,800 vph and a power reserve of 38 hours. The luminescent dial with well proportioned hour markers and hand is protected by a domed sapphire crystal that highlights the vintage aura. There is also a date indication at 3 o'clock.

With the addition of the steel bezel, the SUB 200 now comes in 16 new references, all offered across the brand’s signature eight color ways that range from yellow to silver to green and blue, and, of course, Doxa's signature orange. There's a choice between Doxa’s famed "beads of rice" stainless steel bracelet ($1,090), a fitted rubber strap ($1,050), or— exclusively for the Sea Emerald variant— a NATO strap ($920).
