Panerai Submersible PAM01756 Debuts With Steel Bracelet and No-Date Dial

Panerai's latest Submersible is guided by a simple principle: every feature serves a purpose. The new Submersible PAM01756 introduces the first stainless-steel bracelet on a 44mm model in the collection, while preserving the functional character that has defined Panerai's dive watches since their military origins, which go back to the 1940s. From its signature cushion-shaped case and exceptional water resistance to its uncluttered no-date dial and high-contrast luminous display, the watch is conceived as a professional instrument.

A Professional Dive Watch by Design

The familiar 44mm cushion-shaped case is crafted from corrosion-resistant AISI 316LVM stainless steel and paired with a blue ceramic unidirectional rotating bezel for measuring immersion time. Ceramic provides excellent scratch resistance on one of the watch's most exposed components while reinforcing the Submersible's maritime character. Designed for demanding underwater use, the watch is water-resistant to 500 meters. Each example is pressure-tested at Panerai's manufacture beyond its stated depth rating, reflecting the brand's longstanding expertise in producing instruments for naval divers. The engraved caseback features the historic Slow Speed Torpedo, paying tribute to the Italian Navy commandos who relied on Panerai timepieces during underwater missions.

A Dial Focused on Essential Information

One of the defining characteristics of the PAM01756 is its no-date dial. By eliminating the date display, Panerai returns to the philosophy of its historic military watches, where only the information required for the mission was displayed. The result is a clean, symmetrical dial entirely dedicated to reading the time and tracking elapsed dive time. The black sun-brush finish creates a strong contrast with the white Superluminova applied to the bold hands and indexes. Underwater, Panerai's two-color luminous display further enhances readability: the hour markers and hour hand glow green, while the minute hand and the luminous marker on the bezel shine blue, allowing divers to distinguish the critical timing indications at a glance. At 9 o'clock, the small seconds display features an azurage finish that adds subtle texture while preserving another functional hallmark of Panerai watches by allowing the wearer to verify instantly that the movement is running.

Self-winding Manufacture Movement With Three-Day Power Reserve

The Submersible PAM01756 is powered by the automatic Caliber P.980, which offers a power reserve of three days. Operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, the movement features a traversing balance bridge for improved stability, a stop-seconds function for precise synchronization, and has been tested in six positions to ensure consistent chronometric performance. 

The design of the new stainless-steel bracelet echoes the shape of Panerai's iconic crown-protecting bridge through alternating brushed and polished surfaces. It also introduces the Quick Length Adjustment system to the Submersible collection. Without the use of tools, it can be extended by two mm on each side, allowing the fit to be adjusted easily as the wrist expands or contracts throughout the day. Pricing is marked at $13,200.
