A Dive Watch with a Mission: Meet the Oris Yangtze Jiangtun Limited Edition

With the Yangtze Jiangtun Limited Edition, Oris continues its long-standing commitment to environmental protection. This special Aquis Date supports the work of the Changjiang Conservation Foundation and raises awareness of the critically endangered Yangtze finless porpoise.

Oris unveils a new limited-edition timepiece that unites contemporary Swiss watchmaking with a clear ecological purpose. Created in partnership with China’s Changjiang Conservation Foundation, the Yangtze Jiangtun Limited Edition draws attention to the plight of the Yangtze finless porpoise, the last remaining freshwater cetacean in China. The watch is based on the Aquis Date 43.5mm, Oris’s versatile modern dive watch, and incorporates a series of thoughtful design details inspired by the porpoise and its natural habitat.

The dial is crafted from blue-green mother-of-pearl, chosen for its shimmering appearance that recalls the changing surface of the Yangtze River. Using a precise printing process, Oris has applied a wave motif inspired by the echo-sound waves produced by the Yangtze finless porpoise. These high-frequency clicks are essential for the animal’s communication and navigation in the river’s often murky waters. The hands and applied indices are filled with Super-LumiNova, ensuring excellent legibility in low-light conditions.

The multi-piece stainless steel case measures 43.5mm in diameter and 13.1mm in thickness. It is water-resistant to 30 bar (300 meters) and fitted with a unidirectional rotating bezel featuring a tungsten insert and minute scale. A domed sapphire crystal with internal anti-reflective coating protects the dial. The screwed stainless steel case back is engraved with an image of the Yangtze finless porpoise and the individual limited-edition number from 1 to 1,249, a direct reference to the estimated remaining population of the species. The watch is worn on a stainless steel three-link bracelet.

Powering the Yangtze Jiangtun Limited Edition is the ETA-based Oris Calibre 733. The automatic movement displays hours, minutes and seconds from the center, along with a date window with instantaneous date change and quick correction. It also includes a stop-seconds function for precise time setting and offers a power reserve of 41 hours.

The Oris Yangtze Jiangtun Limited Edition will be available from January 2026. Limited to 1,249 pieces, it has a Swiss retail price of CHF2,550 or approximately $3,170 when converted to USD. Proceeds from the watch support the conservation and public awareness projects of the Changjiang Conservation Foundation, contributing directly to efforts to protect the Yangtze finless porpoise.
