Longines Expands the HydroConquest Collection, Debuts "Watches That Made History"

The Swiss brand extends its diver collection with a new Milanese mesh bracelet and a broader range of case sizes, while maintaining 300-meter water resistance in a notably slim 11.7mm profile. The watchmaker also introduced its latest book, "Longines – Watches That Made History," written by Pierre-André Schmitt.

Since its debut in 2007, the HydroConquest has stood as Longines vision of a modern dive watch— robust in specification yet deliberately restrained in design. A key element of its success has been its adaptability, and this is underscored by the continued expansion of case sizes. While the collection has long been available in 39mm, 41mm, and 43mm, the current generation places renewed emphasis on wearability with the introduction of refined 39mm and 42mm executions that complement the existing range. Arriving at the onset of the warmer season, the latest updates— particularly the addition of the Milanese mesh bracelet— align naturally with more active, outdoor wear, offering enhanced comfort and versatility.

A defining feature of the current HydroConquest generation remains its balance between performance and proportion. With water resistance rated to 300 meters (30 bar) and a case height of just 11.7mm, it is a testament to the brand's engineering prowess of sports watches. Available in 39mm and 42mm steel cases, the new lineup  is equipped with a screw-in crown, a solid screw-down case back, and a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides. The unidirectional rotating bezel, fitted with a ceramic insert in colors such as blue, black, green, or gray, features a luminous marker at zero to ensure legibility in low-light conditions. The collection continues to offer a range of dial executions, including lacquered polished blue, black, and green, alongside a stunning frosted blue sun-ray finish,  available in both case sizes, as a Boutique and only exclusive edition. Applied rhodium-plated hour markers with Supeluminova and likewise luminescent hands ensure clear legibility in all circumstances. There is also a date indication aboard, positioned at 3 o’clock.

Powering all models is the self-winding caliber L888.5, operating at 25,200 vibrations per hour and offering a power reserve of up to 72 hours. Concealed behind a closed and engraved case back, the movement incorporates a silicon balance spring, providing resistance to magnetic fields in line with ISO 764 standards and supporting consistent performance in everyday conditions.

The HydroConquest models on the traditional three-link stainless-steel bracelet are priced at $2,200, while those fitted with the new Milanese mesh bracelet carry a slight premium at $2,400, reflecting the added refinement and comfort of the woven design.
