Alpina Expands Seastrong Diver Extreme Automatic Collection

The two new executions highlight Alpina’s dual affinity for nautical tradition and rugged exploration.

Alpina has introduced two new variations of its Seastrong Diver Extreme Automatic during Geneva Watch Days, reaffirming the line’s position as a cornerstone of the brand’s sport-luxury identity. With its compact 39mm cushion-shaped case, 300-meter water resistance, and robust self-winding movement, the model continues to balance professional dive watch performance with a versatile, contemporary aesthetic that looks equally great in the water and on dry land.

The first new execution takes its cues from the golden age of tool watches. On its black frosted dial, the applied indexes, minute track, and hand tips are coated in a luminous “old radium” tone reminiscent of the 1920s and ’30s. This subtle detail lends the piece a period character without compromising modern legibility. The khaki-dialed counterpart, meanwhile, embraces Alpina’s longstanding connection with outdoor adventure. Paired with the same functional architecture, this variant exudes a more rugged, field-ready charm while retaining the maritime essence of the Seastrong line.

Every element of the dial has been carefully calibrated for clarity and coherence. Large luminescent and partially skeletonized hands ensure optimal legibility under water, while the triangular 12 o’clock index, a hallmark of Alpina’s design language, anchors the display. At six o’clock, a date aperture is enhanced by a luminescent segment beneath the window. Both models are completed by a matte black ceramic bezel with a sharp raised profile.

The case of the Seastrong Diver Extreme Automatic is crafted from brushed and polished stainless steel and measures 39 by 40.5mm across, with a thickness of 12.65mm. It is equipped with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal that has received an anti-reflective treatment to ensure legibility under all lighting conditions. The case back features a detailed engraving of the Seastrong pattern that emphasizes the watch’s maritime heritage. Beneath it ticks Alpina’s automatic caliber AL-525, based on a Sellita, which operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and has a power reserve of 38 hours.
