Zenith introduces a new version of its Chronomaster Sport, distinguished by a dial crafted from meteorite. Building on the reputation of the model that won the “Chronograph” prize at the 2021 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, this latest edition combines the technical performance of the El Primero 3600 caliber with a dial material of extraterrestrial origin. Each dial originates millions of years ago in deep space before finding its way to the Zenith manufactory in Le Locle. Meticulously hand-finished to reveal the Widmanstätten pattern a natural geometric structure formed during the slow cooling of molten iron in space, the meteorite surface is one of a kind, ensuring no two dials are alike. The gray cosmic texture makes for a gorgeous background for the signature tri-color sub dials in silver, light gray, and anthracite. They are finished with circular azuré detailing. Applied baton markers and faceted hands, both filled with Superluminova, ensure  readability even in low light, while a discreet date indication appears at 4:30.

At the heart of the Chronomaster Sport Meteorite beats the El Primero 3600 calibre, the latest generation of Zenith’s legendary high-frequency chronograph movement. Oscillating at 5 Hz, it drives a chronograph hand that completes one full rotation in 10 seconds, enabling readings accurate to 1/10th of a second. The caliber incorporates a silicon escape wheel, a stop-seconds function, and delivers a robust power reserve of 60 hours. Visible through the sapphire case back, the movement reveals a blue column wheel, horizontal clutch, and an open-worked rotor shaped like the Zenith star.
