Zodiac Expands Olympos Collection With New Blue Colorway

Zodiac is dipping into the realm of sport-inspired style with its latest release, the Olympos Automatic Three-Hand Date Blue. The model joins the existing modern Olympos collection, which is based on an early ‘60s Zodiac design by the same name. It is distinguishable through a unique case shape and dial that have evolved into a staple model in Zodiac’s modern catalog. Most significant about the latest release is its introduction of an entirely new Olympos colorway, introducing cool tones to the unique silhouette. 

The new Olympos utilizes an asymmetrical case dubbed the manta ray shape, which reaches its widest point at 2 and 10 o’clock, with a distinct 2 o'clock crown positioning adding to its flair. Measuring 37mm in diameter and produced in steel, the shell is finished with a nice polishing on its top surfaces while a contrasting brushed look adorns its sides, all told measuring 10mm thick on the wrist.

Nodding to playful and sporty color trends as well as to the ocean creature that inspires the case shape of the Olympos, the dial is deep blue with quartered sunray sections. Contrasting the rich blue hue of the dial is a bright seafoam green seconds hand that mimics the background color of the date window at 3 o’clock. Applied indices and matching hour and minute hands complement the steel case of the watch and give it the refined look of a more formal companion. 

Inside the Olympos is the Swiss-made STP1-11 automatic movement (STP, or Swiss Technology Production, is Fossil’s Swiss-based movement production firm), featuring a 44-hour power reserve. A four-screw secured case back protects the caliber, with it additionally helping provide the model with a 50m water resistance.

The new Zodiac Olympos Blue dial is available now via the brand’s website and authorized retailers for $895.
