Ralph Lauren Introduces the Preppy Bear Watch

Ralph Lauren expands its Polo Bear Collection with the Preppy Bear, a new 42mm stainless steel watch featuring the brand’s signature mascot in classic collegiate attire. Powered by a Sellita-made automatic movement, the model pairs a 3D-printed dial illustration with an interchangeable regimental stripe silk strap.

Ralph Lauren expands its Polo Bear Collection with the new Preppy Bear timepiece, a 42mm stainless steel watch centered on one of the brand’s most recognizable design signatures. The model brings the Polo Bear to the dial in classic collegiate dress, pairing the character’s playful appeal with the brand’s long-running preppy American style codes.

Set against an off-white lacquered dial, the Polo Bear is rendered as a finely detailed 3D-printed illustration, wearing a navy blazer, repp tie, and khakis. The surrounding layout keeps the focus on the figure, with black Arabic numerals, a printed minute track and shiny black lacquered hands providing a clean, traditional framework.

The watch is housed in a polished stainless steel case measuring 42mm in diameter and 10.7mm thick. It is topped with a curved sapphire crystal with internal colorless anti-reflective treatment, while a stainless steel crown signed with the Ralph Lauren Pony logo continues the brand detailing. Water resistance is rated to 5 bar, or approximately 50 meters.

Inside is the Ralph Lauren RL200 automatic movement, made by Sellita. The Swiss caliber runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour, uses 26 jewels and offers a power reserve of approximately 50 hours. Functions are kept straightforward with central hours, minutes and seconds.

The collegiate theme continues with an interchangeable regimental stripe silk strap, finished with brown Alsavel lining and a polished stainless steel pin buckle. The strap system allows the watch to move between a more casual preppy look and a slightly dressier configuration, in keeping with the broader Polo Bear concept.

The Ralph Lauren Preppy Bear watch will be available starting by the end of the spring, priced at $1,750.
