Citizen’s Tsuyosa line, already a bestseller in many markets, has received a significant update: three new models powered by a proprietary automatic caliber with extended power reserve, paired with upgraded case and bracelet designs. The collection reimagines the look of the NH299 series, which was one of Citizen's best-selling mechanical watch lines in the late 1990s and early 2000s, especially in overseas markets.

At the core of the refreshed Tsuyosa models beats the automatic Caliber 8310, developed and manufactured in-house by Citizen. The movement offers a power reserve of 60 hours, giving owners the freedom to put the watch aside for an entire weekend without having to reset it on Monday morning. Beating at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, it features stop-seconds functionality for precise setting and runs within an accuracy of minus 20 to plus 40 seconds per day. With a refined finishing quality, the new caliber underscores Citizen’s commitment to mechanical watchmaking in the accessible-luxury segment.

Alongside the technical upgrade, Citizen has refined the Tsuyosa’s design to provide a more sophisticated presence on the wrist. A newly developed multi-link stainless steel bracelet enhances wearing comfort, while the addition of guilloché-style textured dials adds a touch of traditional craftsmanship. The three debut variants include a stainless steel case with a black dial, a bi-color steel-and-gold version with a green dial, and a rose gold–coated edition.

The 40mm stainless steel cases measure 11.7mm in height and offer a water resistance of up to 50 meters. A sapphire crystal with a date magnifier at 3 o’clock ensures durability and clarity, while luminescent hands and markers guarantee legibility in low light. Citizen has retained the crown at the 4 o’clock position, a hallmark of the Tsuyosa collection that improves ergonomics and contributes to the line’s signature silhouette. The exhibition caseback allows a view of the new movement.

With their combination of practical functionality, versatile design, and accessible pricing, the new Tsuyosa models continue the collection’s mission of bridging casual elegance and watchmaking substance. The retail prices are $575 for the stainless steel model, $625 for the bi-color and for the rose gold–coated version. The watches will be available starting in September through Citizen retailers and online at citizenwatch.com.
