To mark the ten-year anniversary of its retro-inspired Seventies line, Glashütte Original unveils a bold new take on the luxury sports chronograph — available exclusively in North America. Limited to just 100 numbered pieces, the new Seventies ‘X’ Chronograph merges 1970s design flair with the precision engineering of modern Saxon watchmaking.

Framed in a cushion-shaped 40mm stainless steel case, the Seventies ‘X’ channels laid-back vintage cool through contemporary craftsmanship. A matte white lacquer dial sets the tone, offset by two vinyl-textured black sub-dials and crisp white markers. A red “10” at the 30-minute counter commemorates the collection’s anniversary, while a red-lacquered chronograph seconds hand adds a vivid splash of color.

Powering the watch is Glashütte Original’s in-house Caliber 37-02, an automatic chronograph movement that combines robust functionality with elegant finishing. The caliber includes a flyback mechanism, Panorama Date, 12-hour and 30-minute counters, small seconds with integrated power reserve display, and a 70-hour power reserve. As always, the movement is visible through a sapphire crystal caseback — a hallmark of Glashütte’s commitment to transparent craftsmanship.

Each timepiece is delivered with both a stainless steel bracelet (featuring a fine-adjustment mechanism) and a rubber strap with a folding clasp, offering easy versatility for city streets, weekend escapes, or beachside lounging.

The launch is accompanied by a Miami Beach–inspired campaign that highlights the carefree spirit of the 1970s — where resort tailoring, bright sun, and playful architecture mirror the Seventies ‘X’ Chronograph’s blend of fun and finesse.

Limited to 100 pieces and priced at $17,900, the Glashütte Original Seventies ‘X’ Chronograph is available beginning July 2025 through select authorized retailers across North America.
