Swatch Quietly Drops Another Scuba Fifty Fathoms - Meet the Blue Lagoon

Last January, Blancpain X Swatch released the black "Ocean of Storms" Scuba Fifty Fathoms. Like the standard collection, the sixth model of the collection had been heavily teased to the public before its launch. For the seventh variant, however, Swatch apparently decided to just have it literally appear out of the blue in selected Swatch stores:

The 42.3-mm turquoise-blue case, unidirectional bezel and crown of the Scuba Fifty Fathoms "Blue Lagoon" (Ref. SO35L400) are made of Bioceramic material (derived from castor oil), the dial features a date indicator between 4 and 5 o'clock, the water resistance is 91 meters. The hour indexes, hour, and minute hands, the tip of the seconds hand, as well as the scale on the bezel, are filled with grade A Super-Luminova. Movement is the brand's Sistem51 mechanical movement (with a power reserve of 90 hours), visible through a transparent sapphire glass caseback. Fittingly, the movement features an illustration of a lagoon and the Tambja mullineri nudibranch in digital print.

This collection comes in exclusive colors that were inspired by various nudibranchs. Nudibranchs inhabit the oceans and are known for their often-extraordinary colors and striking forms. Tambja Mullineri is known for its vibrant colors, which can include unique shades of turquoise blue.

For the first time, Swatch went with a two-piece NATO-style strap (which is no longer covering the sapphire crystal on the back), reducing the length of the strap by 3.1 inches (and reducing the weight from 44 to 42 grams).
