Stowa Turns 95: Celebrating the Anniversary With a Limited Edition Prodiver

Earlier this year German watchmaker Stowa celebrated its 95th anniversary with the release of the Flieger Verus 40, that watch tapping into classic pilot watch design and celebrated the history of the brand. Continuing the celebration, Stowa released yet another anniversary limited edition in August of this year, the Prodiver Vintage 95 Limited. The watch takes cues from the previous limited edition and the brand history at large, yet slight modifications in the design encapsulate the contemporary identity of the Stowa brand.

Though the Prodiver Vintage 95 Limited is a special edition release, it joins a larger, preexisting Stowa Prodiver catalog. The collection has claimed an angular case design throughout its models, one that remains consistent in the newest release. Opting for a 42mm case made of titanium with a sandblasted matte finish, the watch also features a ceramic bezel which emphasizes the first fifteen minutes it measures using growing white circles.

The dial is matte black with radium-colored applied indices and hands, with white highlights throughout to compliment the detailing on the bezel and brighten the overall aesthetic. Like the case, the design of display also draws from vintage diving styles, but with a 1000m is a solidly modern, professional-grade wearer. The Sellita SW 200 powers the large black and gold-colored handset, with their high-visibility lume-accenting contrasting sharply against the noir background.
