G-Shock Electrifies Full Metal Series with Circuit-Patterned GMWB5000TCC1

Since its initial launch in 2018, the G-Shock Full Metal series has developed into a substantial collection of models all sporting a sleek metallic sheen. In the latest expansion of the 5000 Series, which is the original series to sport the Full Metal look, the brand is introducing the futuristic ref. GMWB5000TCC1. With a monochromatic palette and unique circuit-inspired camouflage pattern, the titanium watch is as robust in functionality as it appears on the exterior.

For the case, G-Shock opts for a TranTixxii® titanium alloy that offers the lightweight advantage of titanium while increasing its conventional surface hardness, thereby making it more robust. It occupies a familiar footprint with dimensions of 49.3mm long, 43.2mm wide, and 13mm high. The pattern on the surface of the case depicts the no. 3459 module that powers the entirety of the GMWB5000 collection. Using shapes and lines in a black-and-white circuit-like motif, the result is a kind of “camouflage” design. To create the pattern, G-Shock uses black ion plating and laser engraving, which is done both before and after the ion plating to increase depth and dimension. 

As with many of the design attributes of this latest Full-Metal piece, the dial is recognizable with its central digital display. The dial is characterized by the hours, minutes, and seconds in its lower horizontal half with the day of the week and date situated above it. Surrounding the display are various descriptive notes indicating what some of the watch’s main features are. The dial maintains the dark coloring of its surrounding case, though it also has an LED backlight that glows white to optimize nighttime legibility. 

Joining a collection that is known for its expansive feature offerings, this latest ref. GMWB5000TCC1 is no different. Its functionality includes Bluetooth connectivity that allows it to pair with a smartphone through the G-Shock app, a 1/100-second stopwatch, five daily alarms, 39 time zones, and a full automatic calendar. As expected, the watch also offers 200 meters of water resistance, finalizing its robustness and versatile capabilities. Powering the watch is G-Shock’s “Tough Solar” technology, which allows it to run indefinitely so long as it is regularly exposed to a light source.
