Every year around this time, we see a fresh wave of new diver's watches hitting the scene, as brands roll out their latest models. With each release, they continue to refine their designs, enhancing performance, durability, precision–and beauty. Today’s diver's watches are more versatile than ever, combining cutting-edge engineering with stylish aesthetics that look just as good on land as they do beneath the waves.

The latest example that proofs this savoire-faire is Oris with its Aquis Date Relief. After a brief absence from the collection, the Swiss tradition brand brings back this fan favorite in 2025. The picture-perfect diver’s watch returns with refreshed aesthetics, featuring a vibrant light red lollipop seconds hands that matches the optional rubber strap. Its subdued gray sunburst dial plays with light in subtle ways, creating a dynamic visual effect. A date window at 6 o’clock, color-matched to the dial, is also aboard. The result is a versatile timepiece that feels refined on land but is fully capable under water.

Unlike the standard Aquis Date models with ceramic bezels, the Date Relief stands out with a unidirectional bezel made entirely of stainless steel. What makes it unique is the raised minute scale: numerals, markers, and the triangle are sculpted in relief—milled from solid metal instead of being engraved. This process not only requires more intricate manufacturing but also gives the watch an architectural, tactile depth that aligns with the model's name.

Other than that, the Aquis Date Relief remains a professional dive watch. Its stainless steel case, 43.5mm wide and 13.1mm thick, is water-resistant to 300 meters and features a screw-down crown with flank guard. As a result, the self-winding Oris caliber 733, based on the tried-and-tested Sellita SW200-1, is well protected inside. It offers 41 hours of power reserve and comes to life through the through the screwed exhibition case back. Here, the signature Oris rotor, sets accents with its bright red color.

Oris offers the Aquis Relief Date with a rubber strap for $2,400 and a bracelet priced at $2,600. Both are equipped with a security folding clasp with extension.
