It's official: After a teaser campaign on Instagram featuring Snoopy, this time with a cake and candle motif, and only two weeks after the launch of the Bioceramic MoonSwatch Mission to the Moonphase in white, Swatch today announced the black version, which is scheduled to be in Swatch stores on April 8. Dubbed the "New Moon, this model is presented in a black bioceramic case measuring 42mm x 13.75mm.

With the exception of the chronograph seconds hand, the subdials and the tachymeter bezel, which are white, the entire model is black, including the Velcro strap. Snoopy, NASA's safety ambassador since the 1960s, is depicted lying on a crescent moon amid stars on the moon-phase disk that rotates in the sub dial at 2 o'clock. Under UV light, a hidden quote from a Snoopy comic strip comes to life: "I can't sleep without a night light!"

As with the white execution, all of the signature features of the original Speedmaster Moonwatch, the first watch to go to the moon in 1969, can be found on this timepiece: the asymmetrical case, the tachymeter-scaled bezel with the dot over the 90 and the typically recessed sub dials for the chronograph counters and subsidiary seconds.
