Morning Blue And Golden Hour: Parmigiani Introduces Toric Perpetual Calendar

At last year's Watches & Wonders, Parmigiani unveiled a new generation of its Toric, the first timepiece that the brand's founder Michel Parmigiani had introduced in 1996. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail and the aesthetic of the golden ratio in mind, it represents a refined, subtle aesthetic in accordance with Parmigiani's sartorial approach to watchmaking. This year, the collection welcomes the Toric Perpetual Calendar, which is available in two stunning executions, one in platinum with a Morning Blue dial and one in pink gold with a Golden Hour watch face. While traditional perpetual calendars often utilize the entire dial for their various displays, the Toric Perpetual Calendar combines all calendar informations in two sub dials, while allowing the hour and minute hands to clearly stand out.

The coaxial sub dials, placed in the lower half of the dial, form a harmoniously balanced triangle with the PF logo at 12 o'clock. On the left, you see the day of the week and date; on the right, the month and leap year are displayed. Notably, Parmigiani has deliberately omitted the moon phase indication, which is common in many perpetual calendars, in favor of a more minimalistic design. The refined charisma is highlighted by the "Grainé-main" texture, which translates to "hand-grained" in French, and the fluted bezel framing the oeuvre.

Looking through the display case back reveals the beautiful in-house movement with manual winding and a 60-hour power reserve stored in two barrels. The striking pink gold bridges of the PF733 are not only geometrically shaped but are also decorated with Côtes-de-Fleurier finishing.

Both models feature a 40.6mm case diameter with a total height of 10.9mm and are water-resistant to 30 meters. They are worn on a nubuck alligator leather strap with a platinum or rose gold pin buckle. The strap color is subtly coordinated with the case and dial colors: the platinum watch comes with a pale Akoya Grey strap, while the gold version is matched with a slightly bluish Arctic Grey strap.
