Colored dials have been having a moment in the watch industry in recent years. Many brands have experimented with designing a vibrant color-pop dial housed in a neutral metallic case, and Christopher Ward is the latest brand to do so. Though not the first time the brand has produced colorfully designed models, its newest release introduces some new bright options paired with a versatile 36mm case size.

Dubbed the C63 Sealander Automatic, the launch from the British-born watch brand includes four limited edition color options, including a "Lucerne Blue" version is inspired by Lake Lucerne, a "Jura Green" recalling the forests of the Jura mountains, a "New Forest Yellow" that draws its name from the autumn leaves in the ancient Hampshire woodland, and an 'Acer Red" paying tribute to the trees and shrubs of the maple family.

On the wrist, each of the models measure a nimble 36mm by 10.75m in steel, capitalizing upon the trend in the market towards smaller-wearing, more gender-neutral sizing and styling. The cases notably feature a primarily brushed finishing, but opt for distinct polished edges to elevate the design.

The dial of the watches are certainly the centerpiece, with their vibrant hues and complementing metallic accents. The design is classically Christopher Ward, being adorned with large applied baton-style hour markers and a set of the brand's familiar trident hands seen often in their C65 dive series among others, each filled with lume for high-visibility in low light conditions. A date window resides at the 6 o'clock position for some daily versatility, while the brand's twin-flags logo is printed towards the 12 o'clock.

An exhibition caseback on the reverse of the watch reveals the Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement, with the caliber positioned as an upgrade to the original Sellita SW200. The standard mechanism offers a 38-hour power reserve, features an anti-shock system to maintain accuracy in the case of sudden impact, and showcases a brand-finished rotor.
