Need a Light? Norqain Brightens with the New Adventure Neverest Night Sight 40mm DLC

Launched only this past August, the Norqain Neverest series, a sub-family of its Adventure collection, has seen rapid growth and garnered wide attention. Pairing all-purpose, sports-driven designs with the brand’s signature aesthetic, appealing movements, and colorways, in addition to a focused charitable component, it’s a series which has represented a Norqain seemingly in stride and consistently on-brand. It began with the time-only Adventure Neverest, then expanded to include a hard-wearing trio of GMTs, and now the young brand returns with its third follow-up in the series, the Adventure Neverest Night Sight 40mm DLC.

The latest update to the collection is arguably Norqain’s most visually striking timepiece yet. Importantly, the Night Sight’s time-only, sand-colored dial features a healthy coating of X1 Super-LumiNova— a particularly bright and long-lasting variation of the luminous paint that allows the watch to glow bright green as the sun sets and lighting conditions deteriorate.

The use of a full-lume dial is uncommon in the world of watchmaking, but not unheard of: recent examples have included the Bell & Ross BR 03-92 Full Lum Limited Edition and Bulgari Aluminium Steve Aoki Special Edition (pictured below), among a handful of others. Despite its adoption by a handful of other brands, the full-lume style in Norqain’s Night Sight is no less striking, with its bright luminosity essentially undercover in bright conditions thanks to the watch’s overall military-inspired colorway.

A namesake 40-mm DLC-coated steel case provides the housing for the bright dial, its 200-meter water-resistant silhouette quickly familiar to fans of previous Neverest watches with its sturdy construction, crown guards, and bidirectional bezel. Unique to the Night Sight model, however, is the bezel's compass engravings, which differ from the 24-hour GMT bezel and 60-minute scale on previous editions. What this signature feature lacks in convenient utility in makes up for in sporty stylishness, adding another subtle, adventurous motif to the watch’s aesthetic.

Flipping the watch over, you'll find an exhibition caseback with a view of Norqain’s Caliber NN20/1, whose attributes include a “weekend-proof” 70-hour power reserve, a “double-N” Norqain logo symbolizing the Swiss Alps on the rotor, and the words “Adventure – Freedom – Independence” engraved on a bridge, representing the names of the Norqain product families as well as the “core values” claimed by the brand.

The Norqain Adventure Neverest Night Sight 40mm is available now via authorized dealers and directly through the brand. Pricing is marked at $3,490 on a flex fabric strap, $3,510 on rubber, and $3,890 on a DLC-coated steel bracelet.

As was the case for previous Adventure Neverest series watches, 10 percent of the earnings from the sale will benefit the Butterfly Help Project. This non-profit was founded by Norbu Sherpa and Andrea Sherpa-Zimmermann of Wild Yak Expeditions, with a focus on assisting the families of fellow Sherpas who have lost their lives in the Himalayan Mountains and providing their children access to education.
