LVMH’s Watches Division has announced the acquisition of a minority stake in Swiss manufacturer La Joux-Perret, a well-established producer of high-precision watch movements based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, which was  acquired by the Citizen Group in 2021. Alongside the investment, the two companies have consolidated a strategic commercial partnership designed to provide enhanced production and innovation capabilities across all of LVMH’s watch brands, including Hublot, TAG Heuer, and Zenith.

The collaboration between LVMH and La Joux-Perret is not new. Since 2022, TAG Heuer has partnered with the movement specialist on the development of a solar-powered quartz movement, now featured in the Aquaracer and Formula 1 collections. The partnership also includes movements powering Tiffany & Co.’s Rope watch and is expected to expand to other LVMH brands in the coming years.

“Their technical mastery, industrial excellence, and deep roots in the Swiss watchmaking landscape make La Joux-Perret an ideal partner. Together, we aim to lead the way in sustainable high-precision watch movements, leveraging our expertise in solar energy.”

Jean-Christophe Babin, CEO of LVMH Watches Division

“This strategic alliance confirms the recognition of La Joux-Perret’s expertise and opens new long-term development prospects. The company will continue to supply movements with outstanding performance, contributing to the Swiss watch industry alongside the LVMH Group.”

Yoshitaka Oji, President & CEO of Citizen Watch Group

The move is part of LVMH’s broader strategy to reinforce relationships with exceptional industrial partners and expand its capabilities in Switzerland, where the Group currently operates 16 watchmaking manufactures. La Joux-Perret will continue to serve its existing clientele while supporting LVMH’s ambitions for innovation, particularly in sustainable, high-precision movements.
