Tudor Introduces Black Bay 58 GMT with New METAS-Certified Movement

Tudor expands the Black Bay 58 line with a new GMT model, combining a 39mm case with the METAS-certified caliber MT5450-U. Finished with a gilt-accented dial and a black and burgundy bezel, the release points to potential future colorways in the collection.

Tudor expands its GMT lineup at Watches and Wonders 2026 with the introduction of the Tudor Black Bay 58 GMT, bringing the dual-time complication into the brand’s popular mid-size case for the first time. Building on the established Black Bay 58 format, the new model combines a 39mm case with a redesigned GMT movement and a more refined bracelet offering, positioning it as a more compact alternative to the standard Black Bay GMT.

The Black Bay 58 GMT retains the collection’s defining proportions, measuring 39mm in diameter with a thickness of 12.8mm and a lug-to-lug of 47.8mm. The steel case features a mix of polished and satin finishes and maintains 200 meters of water resistance, consistent with the broader Black Bay line.

A bidirectional 24-hour bezel in black and burgundy anodized aluminum introduces the GMT functionality, with the color split aiding quick distinction between day and night hours. The winding crown, set flush to the case, features the Tudor rose in relief, while overall ergonomics reflect incremental refinements seen across recent Black Bay releases. The watch is offered on a five-link bracelet, a three-link “rivet-style” bracelet, or a rubber strap, all equipped with Tudor’s T-fit rapid adjustment clasp.

The dial follows the familiar Black Bay 58 template, with a subtly domed matte black surface and applied hour markers rendered in gilt. The warm tone extends across the hands and bezel markings, giving the watch a more vintage-leaning aesthetic. Tudor’s signature “Snowflake” hands remain, filled with Super-LumiNova for legibility, while the GMT hand enables tracking of a second time zone via the 24-hour bezel.

The gilt execution is a notable detail within the context of Tudor’s GMT offerings. If past releases are any indication, this initial configuration may serve as a foundation for future variations, potentially expanding into additional colorways like those seen in the standard Black Bay GMT lineup, including the well-known red and blue “Pepsi” bezel.

Inside is the new Manufacture Calibre MT5450-U, a self-winding movement with an integrated GMT function. The movement is both COSC-certified and Master Chronometer certified by METAS, according to the brand meeting stringent standards for precision, magnetic resistance, waterproofness, and power reserve.

Operating at 4 Hz (28,800 vph), the caliber features a silicon hairspring, a variable inertia balance, and a 65-hour power reserve. The GMT function notably is integrated into the movement architecture rather than added as a module, allowing for a more cohesive design and improved robustness.

Pricing for the Black Bay 58 GMT varies by configuration, being marked at $5,350 on the five-link bracelet, $5,225 on the three-link “rivet-style” bracelet, and $4,975 on the rubber strap. The model is available now through Tudor retailers.
