Zenith’s Defy Skyline, first introduced in 2022, has quickly earned its place among the manufacture’s contemporary icons. Defined by its bold geometry, integrated design, and the unmistakable technical prowess of the El Primero movement, it bridges Zenith’s storied past with its forward-looking spirit. Now, the brand takes its architectural timepiece to new heights of refinement with a stunning new interpretation: the Defy Skyline Tourbillon in full rose gold, featuring a deep brick-red dial that pays homage to Zenith’s historic workshops in Le Locle.

For this latest iteration, Zenith clads the luxury watch entirely in radiant 18-karat rose gold. Measuring 41mm  in diameter, the case combines satin-brushed and polished surfaces that catch the light across its sharp, faceted lines. The proverbial star of the show is the mesmerizing dial adorned with a pattern of engraved four-pointed stars that radiate outward from the tourbillon aperture at 6 o’clock. The new brick-red colorway is a visual tribute to the manufacture’s distinctive red-and-white brickwork, creating a direct and poetic link between the brand’s birthplace and its most advanced creation. Rose-gold hands and hour markers treated with Super-LumiNova enhance legibility while harmonizing beautifully with the warm tones of the case.

Powering the new Defy Skyline Tourbillon is the in-house El Primero 3630 automatic caliber. Beating at a high frequency of 5 Hz (36,000 vibrations per hour) and offering a 50-hour power reserve, it showcases Zenith’s longstanding expertise in precision timekeeping. The ultra-light tourbillon carriage, weighing just 0.25 grams, completes a full rotation every 60 seconds and is shaped in the form of the brand’s “double Z” star. Through the sapphire crystal caseback, the architecture of the movement reveals itself with a contemporary 3D laser-engraved Geneva Stripes motif that radiates from the tourbillon, drawing the eye toward the watch’s beating heart. For the first time in the Skyline line, the open-worked oscillating weight is also rendered in rose gold, shaped as a star and finished with satin brushing to complement the case.

The Defy Skyline Tourbillon comes on an integrated rose-gold H-link bracelet that tapers elegantly from the case to the clasp, ensuring a perfect balance of comfort and presence. An additional brick-red rubber strap, easily interchangeable without the need for tools thanks to Zenith’s intuitive quick-change system, is also included.

Exclusively available through Zenith boutiques worldwide and selected authorized retailers, the watch retails for $93,300.
