Vanguart Expands the Black Hole Collection with Two Stunning Variants

Vanguart introduces two new iterations of its avant-garde Black Hole collection: one crafted in rose gold, the other in titanium featuring authentic Arabic numerals.

Since its debut in 2021, the Black Hole line has stood out as one of the more intriguing concept watches in the world of independent haute horlogerie. At Dubai Watch Week 2025, the La Chaux-de-Fonds–based Vanguart, founded in 2017, unveils two evolutions that reinterpret its characteristic blend of multidimensional dial architecture, kinetic mechanics, and unconventional time display.

With the Arabic Numerals Edition, Vanguart introduces Arabic script to the Black Hole concept for the first time. The avant-garde design retains the defining principle of the collection: time is displayed across three concentric, tiered scales — here featuring hand-applied Arabic characters — that swirl around and beneath the prominent flying tourbillon. In keeping with the cosmic theme, the eye is naturally drawn into the mechanical depth at the center.

The time display is operated via two crowns positioned on the right side of the titanium case, which measures 45mm in diameter and 15.75mm in height. The lower crown adjusts the time forwards and backwards, while the upper crown advances the hours only. A vertical power-reserve indicator on the left side of the case shows the state of wind of the hand-wound in-house movement. Like the dial and case, this high-end manufacture caliber is crafted from Grade 5 titanium and finished by hand with microblasting, satin brushing, hand-polishing, and hand-beveling — a multitude of details that become visible through the sapphire case back.

Limited to eight pieces, the Black Hole Arabic Numerals Edition is priced at CHF355,000 or approximately $440,765 when converted to USD.

The Black Hole Rose Gold Edition offers an equally compelling interpretation of the sculptural dial, once again anchored by the flying tourbillon that defines both the technical and aesthetic identity of the watch. The applied Arabic numerals are classically executed, harmonizing with the warm tones of the precious metal. Its rose-gold case also measures 42mm in diameter and 15.75mm in height. As with the titanium model, Vanguart omits traditional lugs, enabling a fully integrated rubber-strap construction that emphasizes the fluid, architectural design.

Limited to eight pieces, the Black Hole Rose Gold is priced at CHF410,000 or approximately $509,152.
