Union Glashütte expands its 1893 collection this year, the series commemorating the founding of the traditional Saxon brand by industrial expert Johannes Dürrstein (1845 – 1901). To do so the brand is introducing a new timepiece, the 1893 Johannes Dürrstein Edition Power Reserve, which comes fully equipped with a new movement from the German watchmaker.

A white enamel ring with railroad-minute track frames the blue-gray center of the dial, which has been sandblasted to create a refined surface texture. It makes a great background for the date display at 3 o'clock, the small seconds at 9 o'clock and the power reserve indicator at 5 o'clock. Blued hands indicate the hour and minute from the center.

The elegant timepiece is powered by the hand-wound caliber UNG-56.SI, developed in Glashütte and produced in cooperation with its sister company ETA. The movement features the high-quality characteristics of Glashütte calibers, such as the three-quarter plate and the typical striped finish, and is equipped with an innovative silicon hairspring. Measuring 41mm in diameter, the stainless steel watch is worn on the blue calfskin strap.

Available now, the Union Glashütte 1893 Johannes Dürrstein Edition Power Reserve is priced at approximately $2,500 when converted to USD.
