The Art of Reduction: Bell & Ross Unveils New Skeletonized Movement in a Model Trilogy at Watches & Wonders 2025

Skeletonized watches showcase great art in miniature: with the already delicate movement parts pierced to their core, they offer fascinating glimpses into their micro-mechanical world. Their subtle design language further allows for a creative diversity that emphasizes their unique allure. This also holds true for the new BR-CAL.328 from Bell & Ross, which the French brand introduces at Watches and Wonders 2025. The automatic movement, with a 54-hour power reserve, provides a distinctly modern interpretation of traditional craftsmanship. The upper bridges are designed in an X shape, drawing the eye into the heart of the movement.

By skeletonizing our BR-03, one of the cornerstones of our collections, we have given a daily wear watch an additional horological dimension. We reworked the bridges and upper plates of the movement to elevate the BR-03 with a maximum level of sophistication. To underscore this concept, we redesigned the entire watch around a special X-shaped structure, a symbol of refinement and avant-garde. Through an increase in luminosity, we wanted to add another layer of sophistication to the watch. By offering three versions with distinctly different approaches, we allow the watch to reinvent itself by presenting three original and innovative designs.

BR-03 Skeleton Black Ceramic

Good things come in threes: The new movement is featured in three versions of the BR-03 collection, which is distinguished by its square case and round dial. The unlimited BR-03 Skeleton Black Ceramic most strongly reflects the DNA of the collection. It comes in a black ceramic case with a diameter of 41 mm and water-resistance of up to 100 meters. The black tinted sapphire crystal complements the dark color scheme, with four Arabic numerals in a "Baignoire" style standing out. Like the markers and the skeletonized hour and minute hands, these numerals are coated with white Superluminova, emitting striking green glow at night.

The BR-03 Skeleton Black Ceramic is delivered with two straps, a rubber strap and a Velcro strap, and priced at approximately $6,900 when converted to USD.

BR-03 Skeleton Grey Steel

The pure steel version of the BR-03 Skeleton offers fascinating views of the BR-CAL.328 through its X-shaped, openwork dial. Here, the movement and dial seem to merge into one sculptural unit. Every element of the BR-03 Skeleton Grey Steel is designed to capture the light—from the polished and satin-finished case to the faceted hour markers embedded into the flange and the angled cutouts, which resemble windows into the heart of the watch. The diameter is also 41 mm, but the case height is notably slim at 9.65 mm.

Bell & Ross equips the BR-03 Skeleton Grey Steel also with both a rubber and Velcro strap. The price is approximately $6,100 when converted to USD.

Bell & Ross BR-03 Lum Ceramic

The third watch in the trilogy combines the signature elements of the BR-03 Skeleton Black Ceramic and the BR-03 Skeleton Grey Steel. It features a black ceramic case and the same dial architecture as the BR-03 Skeleton Grey Steel, but with a black version of the dial. Here, the edges are highlighted with glowing Superluminova C3, affixed to a translucent, tinted plate. This creates a unique photoluminescent effect.

The BR-03 Lum Ceramic is limited to 250 pieces and comes also with a rubber strap and a Velcro strap. Pricing is marked at approximately $7,100 when converted to USD.
