First Look: Emporio Armani's New Mechanical Watch, the Armani Meccanico (Video)
Following in the footsteps of brands like Hermès, Gucci, Chanel, and others, Emporio Armani has joined the growing club of fashion houses that are producing high-end watches with mechanical movements. Click here to find information on, and watch an official brand video for, the new Emporio Armani Meccanico collection, debuting this fall.
Here's what Emporio Armani has released on the new watch thus far: it will contain an automatic mechanical movement that undergoes a "wear-in process" in which it runs for 1,000 hours before completing quality control. Armani says that this ensures a longer-lasting life for the movement and increases its efficiency and precision.
The Emporio Armani Meccanico Collection watches will be available in either round or rectangular cases, in stainless steel or steel with black or rose-gold IP treatment. They will feature partially skeletonized dials inside which the mechanical movement will be visible. The watches will be offered on leather straps (either smooth or with a croco print) or stainless steel bracelets with butterfly deployant buckles.
Emporio Armani's first released photo of the Armani Meccanico watch is below; a video animation, provided by Emporio Armani, showing more of the new models as well as an exploded view of the movement, is below the photo.
