For those who have wondered how the brand's traditional Von Büren 1521 case would look like on steroids, wonder no more: Squale has just launched its latest in the Master Marina Militare, a limited edition of 300 pieces which uses an enhanced stainless steel case with 1,200-meter water resistance and a diameter of 42mm. By bringing back the Master designation, however, the case thickness went from 12.5 to 17mm, which directly results in substantially more wrist presence.

As the name indicates, the Master Marina Militare (Ref. MASTERMM) is launched in cooperation with the Italian Navy and comes with an automatic helium release valve at 9 o'clock, bigger hands (and larger logos), and a sandwich dial.

With the aim of creating an even higher performance product for the renewed collaboration with the Italian Navy, the Master case has undergone some technical improvements (such as the introduction of the helium valve and the addition of a 4mm thick sapphire crystal) […]

Squale

Squale had already worked with the Italian Navy in the 1980s, and has recently launched a model for the Italian State Police Divers Unit. Just last year, Squale began partnering with Drass Galeazzi, a leading supplier of diving systems worldwide. As a result, Drass carried out the pressure tests for this limited edition. For the brushed bezel insert, Squale went with a sterile Bund-type design with Superluminova at 12 o'clock. Typical for this case design, the screw-in crown is located at 4 o'clock. On the massive caseback, both the individual number of the watch as well as the coat of arms of the Italian Navy (representing Venice, Genoa, Pisa and Amalfi) can be found. The watch comes with two straps, a 20-mm NATO textile strap and a black rubber strap with buckle, movement is the Sellita SW 200-1 (Elaboré) with 38-hour power reserve.
