Launched two years ago, Seiko's Presage Sharp Edged series has been characterized by its combination of traditional mechanical watchmaking with a distinctively modern Japanese style. It offers the finesse of traditional Japanese aesthetics with a pronounced, straightforward case design. In 2022, five new timepieces will be added to the collection, each highlighting a different aspect of Seiko's mechanical prowess and offering a fresh perspective on its Japanese heritage.

Among them is the Presage Sharp Edged GMT Limited Edition, which is powered by the self-winding caliber 6R64. The wide dial allows the time, GMT function, power reserve and date to be read at one glance. It has a refined texture depicting a hemp leaf motif, and its blue hue, enhanced by a gloss finish, is inspired by ancient paintings of Mount Fuji in midsummer drawn by Ukiyoe artists. The ceramic inlay displaying the second time zone on the bezel has the same blue colorway.

The Presage Sharp Edged GMT Limited Edition comes in a stainless-steel case with a diameter of 42.2mm, is water-resistant to 100 meters and retails for $1,550. Limited to 900 pieces worldwide, it is scheduled to hit the Seiko boutiques and selected stores in July 2022. It comes with an additional blue cordovan strap that echoes the dial's colorway.
