Just released by Rado, the Captain Cook High-Tech Ceramic Skeleton is a colorful masterpiece bringing together the brand's expertise in modern materials and special finishing techniques in order to highlight the beauty of mechanics. The latest addition to the sports watch collection, which was first released in the early 1960's and revived a couple of years ago, this sports timepiece comes with a bold diameter of 43mm and a water resistance of 300 meters. The case, a monobloc design, is crafted from high-tech ceramic and equipped with a pink-gold-colored PVD coated stainless-steel unidirectional bezel with a circular brushed plasma high-tech ceramic insert.

The dial also showcases hues of pink gold, with the luminescent indexes and hands as well as the minute ring on the flange. It is protected by the familiar Captain Cook box-shaped sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides. In this latest model, the glass presents a lightly smoked tint, which enhances the charisma of the skeletonized movement on full display.

We spot the R808 skeleton movement with a smart new geometry and components shaded in different tones. Special finishing touches include a new, horizontally-brushed plate and a rose-gold-colored minute-wheel bridge. This self-winding movement, equipped with an anti-magnetic Nivachron hairspring, has been fully tested in five positions rather than the usual three, and provides up to 80 hours of power reserve.
