As Oris concludes its 120th anniversary celebrations in 2024, the Swiss independent watch brand already looks ahead to the Chinese New Year, which begins on January 29, 2025. With the introduction of the ProPilot X "Year of the Snake" Limited Edition, Oris unveils one of its first new release for 2025. This modern take on the classic pilot’s watch is limited to just 88 pieces and is powered by the ProPilot X Calibre 115 with an impressive power reserve of ten days and a non-linear power reserve indicator. Aesthetically, the watch draws inspiration from the color palette of the Chinese zodiac sign of the snake.

Parts of the skeletonized dial, offering a deep view into the hand-wound movement beneath, are rendered in a cool cyan hue, emphasizing the dynamic open design of the watch. The prominent power reserve indicator, located on the right side of the dial, is also designed in this striking color. Its curved hand, which tracks the status of the mainspring, serves as a tribute to the snake. As a design counterpoint, the small seconds subdial is positioned between 7 and 8 o’clock. Behind this airy architecture, fascinating details of the movement are visible, including the large barrel and skeletonized bridges. For legibility in low light, the hour and minute hands, along with the indices, are coated with SuperLuminova.

The hand-wound Calibre 115 is housed in a 44mm titanium case that exudes a modern and sporty feel. The case is water-resistant to 100 meters, and the signature knurled bezel complements the bold design of the crown. The sapphire case back beautifully showcases the aesthetic and technical refinements of the Calibre 115.
