Kicking off the new watch year in style, Nomos Glashütte expands the Orion watch family with three new self-winding executions, the Orion neomatik New Black, the Orion neomatik 39 New Black, and the Orion neomatik New 41 Date New Black.

Since the manufacture presented its first four timepieces in 1992, the Orion has been a constant in its collection. The time-only watch is considered the quiet star among Nomos's timepieces, in fact, legend has it that it is the secret favorite of the brand's designers. Right from the start, the hallmark of this classic has been the subtly curved, very flat case with elongated lugs, whose distinctive appearance is emphasized by the likewise curved sapphire crystal, and the wide dial, which celebrates tasteful minimalism at its finest.

Thanks to this distinguished elegance, completed by a Horween Genuine Shell Cordovan strap, the Orion has been a text-book example of a dress watch in the entry-level of the luxury segment, appealing to many enthusiasts during the last three decades.

The three newcomers differ in size and in the variation of the black dials. While the 36.4mm Orion neomatik New Black combines eleven golden indexes with rhodium-plated hands, the picture is reversed on the big sibling: the Orion neomatik 41 Date New Black features gold-plated hands against the black dial with rhodium-plated indexes.

On the medium-sized variant, the Orion neomatik 39 New Black, only the lettering "neomatik" (just like the other two) shines in gold; otherwise, the appearance remains two-toned.

Measuring just 3.2mm in height, the slim automatic caliber DUW 3001 drives the two smaller variants, which come in at a total height of 8.5 and 8.7mm, respectively.
