The southern German traditional brand Laco, whose origins date back to 1925, is known not only for pilot watches but also for nautically inspired timepieces. Now, Laco is expanding this model range and presents a reissue of the models named after two German port cities, Cuxhaven and Bremerhaven.

The new models are inspired by the classic marine pocket watches from the 1940s, and feature a railway minute track and small seconds. In addition, Laco is expanding the model range, which was previously available with a diameter of 42.5mm, with two more variants with a reduced diameter of 39mm. In both sizes, the Cuxhaven impresses with its shiny white dial, while the Bremerhaven delights with a striking black dial.

To ensure good legibility even at night and in poor visibility conditions, the numerals, indexes, and hands are coated with Superluminova C3. The hands' frames of the hours and minutes on the black Bremerhaven are painted black, while on the bright Cuxhaven, they are thermally blued.

Both watches set sail with high-quality manual-winding movements: the 42.5-mm version with the proven ETA Unitas 6498.1 caliber, and the smaller models with the Sellita SW261. In both cases, a sapphire crystal caseback allows a view of the decorated movement.

The Cuxhaven is complemented by a beige calf leather strap, which develops its own patina shortly after use. In contrast, the Bremerhaven comes with a smooth black leather strap. The retail prices are approximately $1,360 (€1,290) for the 39mm versions and $1,780 (€1,690) for the 42.5mm models. They will be available from October.
