Framing Time with French Elegance: Yema Granvelle CMM.20
French brand Yema introduces the Granvelle CMM.20, a refined expression of horological savoir-faire that works to marry architectural style with mechanical intrigue. Rooted in the heart of French watchmaking— the city of Besançon— the 39mm cushion-shaped Granvelle pays tribute to the arches of the Granvelle Palace, with a design that reflects both heritage and innovation. This Renaissance castle from the 16th century is home to the Museum of Time.
Crafted from brushed stainless steel, the case is accented by polished vertical coin-edge flanks and chamfers, giving it a light-catching, multi-dimensional aesthetic. At just 8.6mm thick, the sleek silhouette is made possible by Yema’s caliber CMM.20 with a 70-hour power reserve stored in one barrel.
The in-house self-winding movement is equipped with a tungsten mico-rotor that allows for the slim built of just 3.70 thickness. With an accuracy of -3/+7 seconds per day, this caliber made in France impresses not only with its precision and power reserve, but also with its visual elegance. The rhodium-plated bridges are galvanized and adorned with a striking Côtes de Genève sunray pattern, all beautifully showcased through the exhibition case back.
The dial is a true centerpiece. Featuring a guilloché concentric pattern, it draws the eye inward with its hypnotic texture and dynamic light play. At 9 o’clock, a small seconds sub dial adds a subtle asymmetry, nodding to vintage design codes while enhancing visual intrigue. Elegant dauphine-style hands and a chapter ring with engraved hour markers create a refined, gallery-like frame around the dial.
The Granvelle CMM.20 is offered in three dial variations–gray, green, and blue–all fitted with a premium tapered leather strap finished with contrast beige stitching and a stainless steel deployant clasp.
The Granvelle CMM.20 is available for pre-order now at yema.com, with shipping starting end of May 2025.
