Tutima Glashütte Brings Gold and Titanium Together in the New Patria
A refined contrast
Two materials could hardly be more different in character than titanium and gold, yet the new Patria from Tutima Glashütte brings them together in a remarkably cohesive design. The latest addition to the manufacture collection combines a lightweight and highly resistant Grade 5 titanium case with the warm glow of 18-karat gold hands and markers, creating a restrained bicolor aesthetic that gives the sophisticated dress watch a distinctive character. Rather than relying on a strong visual contrast, Tutima uses the different qualities of the materials to introduce subtle warmth and depth to the otherwise understated design.

Light, Texture, and Golden Details
The 41mm case is crafted from polished Grade 5 titanium and features the gently curved, ergonomically inclined lugs characteristic of the Patria. Its silver-white dial has a finely structured surface that changes subtly with the light, while the applied, diamond-cut hour markers and solid-gold hands that are produced in-house provide contrast. The prominent small seconds display at 6 o’clock is integrated into the composition with a circular grooved texture and a gold-colored border, reinforcing the balanced proportions of the dial.

The choice of materials continues on the wrist with a cognac-colored leather strap, whose hand-stitched construction complements the warm tones of the gold details. At the same time, the low weight and skin-friendly properties of the titanium case contribute to the watch’s wearing comfort. Water resistance is rated to 50 meters, making the Patria not only an exercise in traditional watchmaking but also a practical companion for everyday wear.

A Fine Example of Glashütte Watchmaking
At the heart of the new Patria is the hand-wound manufacture Caliber Tutima 617, which is paced at 21,600 vibrations per hour and offers a 60-hour power reserve. Visible through the sapphire-crystal case back, the movement reflects the traditional vocabulary of Glashütte watchmaking, with a three-quarter plate decorated with Glashütte ribbing, hand-finished bevels and screwed gold chatons. A skeletonized balance cock provides an unobstructed view of the balance and the manufacture’s proprietary regulator-free balance system with a hand-bent Breguet hairspring. The latest Patria is priced at €9,400 or approximately $10,940 when converted to USD.
