With the Extra Plat Souscription, the revived Daniel Roth brand presented its second model of the new era at this year's LVMH Watch Week. As the name suggests, we talk about an ultra-thin timepiece inspired by the second watch Daniel Roth launched in 1991, an elegant two-handed dress watch with his unmistakable double-ellipse case shape with gadrons, designed to be comfortable on the wrist.

With a height of only 7.7 mm, the yellow gold case measures 38.6 x 35.5mm wide and features the typical straight-forward lugs. It frames a dial with a stunning Clous de Paris guilloche that is a beauty to behold.

Applied by an artisan at La Fabrique du Temps on an original straight-line engine from the 1930s, its meticulous pattern creates a stunning background for the chapter ring with blue Roman numerals that echo the shades of blue of the hour and minute hands. The filigree border of the ring is created on another machine that dates back to the 1800s. The composition is very elegant and discreet, as befits a dress watch.

The movement of the Extra Plat Souscription also ticks the box for dress watches. Newly developed, the hand-wound DR002 is a form movement that perfectly fits the shape of the case. Despite being hidden by a closed case back, it boasts traditional high-end watchmaking finishes, such as beveled bridges. Developed and assembled at La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton in Meyrin, it has a frequency of 4 Hz and an impressive power reserve of 65 hours.

Daniel Roth will produce only 20 pieces of this Extra Plat Souscription. Pricing is marked at CHF45,000 or approximately $49,000 when converted to USD.
