Leica Introduces Elegant Two-Tone Edition of Leica ZM 1

The Leica ZM 1 Gold Limited Edition is an homage to the brand's rich heritage, pioneering spirit, and craftsmanship. Limited to just 50 pieces, this modern-day watch pays tribute to the iconic Leica I Model A Luxus, the first Leica camera made of gold, introduced in 1929.

Derived from the Leica L1, which was debuted in 2018, the Leica ZM 1 Gold Limited Edition boasts a two-tone case with a diameter of 41mm and a height of 14.5mm. It is crafted from 18k gold and grade 5 titanium.

Adding to the luxury charisma are the warm brown hues of the dial, achieved through meticulous brushing techniques creating a captivating interplay of light. This serves as an elegant backdrop for the time indication, the power reserve mimicking the mimicking the blades of a camera shutter, and date window.

There is also a special function for controlling whether you're winding the power reserve or setting the time, which is controlled via a red-capped button set into the crown. When you press the button, the movement stops, the seconds display goes to zero, and you can turn the crown to set the time. Delicate galvanized indexes and hands cast a resplendent golden glow, echoing the warmth of the golden case.

At its heart ticks the hand-assembled Leica Calibre LH-1001, a genuine hand-wound movement from German watch brand Lehmann which is based in the Black Forest. Boasting a power reserve of 60 hours, its top-notch finishing quality and decorations can be admired through the sapphire case back.

The Leica ZM 1 Gold Limited Edition is finished with a color-coordinated and responsibly sourced leather strap that is is hand-stitched in Geneva and equipped with a with a matching 18k rose gold deployant clasp. It has a price tag of $28,000.
