Travel has long inspired watchmaking, but few brands interpret the theme as literally as Norqain. With the new Freedom GMT Enjoy Life “Holiday” Limited Edition, the independent Swiss brand introduces the first GMT complication to its Enjoy Life collection. The result is a watch that pairs practical functionality for travelers with a vibrant design celebrating adventure, exploration, and the joy of discovering new destinations.

A World Map Full of Surprises

The dial immediately sets the tone. A colorful world map stretches across its surface, blending shades of orange, pink, and turquoise to evoke tropical sunsets and distant shores. Looking closer reveals a variety of playful "holiday icons" hidden throughout the continents and oceans, including a kangaroo in Australia and a shark fin off the coast of South Africa. The travel theme continues on the 24-hour scale around the outer edge of the dial, where the centrally mounted GMT hand with its turquoise arrow tip indicates a second time zone. Here, Norqain adds another layer of personality: the nighttime "2" is replaced with a sleeping emoji, while the hours between 4 and 6 p.m. are labeled "Happy Hour." Even the date display joins in the vacation spirit. On five days each month, the traditional numerals give way to summer-themed illustrations such as flip-flops, sunglasses, a bikini, and a beach umbrella. Despite its unconventional appearance, the Freedom GMT remains a fully functional sports watch. Rhodium-plated indexes and faceted hands stand out clearly against the colorful background, while generous Superluminova ensures excellent legibility after dark. The dial is protected by a double anti-reflective box-style sapphire crystal.

Manufacture GMT Caliber From Kenissi

Powering the watch is the automatic Norqain Caliber NN20/2, produced by movement specialist Kenissi. The COSC-certified chronometer operates at 4 Hz and delivers a 70-hour power reserve. The GMT function allows the local hour hand to be adjusted independently in one-hour increments forward or backward, with the date automatically following the local time adjustment — a practical feature for frequent travelers crossing time zones. Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, the movement features a personalized rotor, while the crystal itself is decorated with a palm-tree motif that reinforces the holiday theme.

A Chance to Visit the Maldives

The Freedom GMT Enjoy Life “Holiday” Limited Edition is housed in a 40mm case crafted from 316L stainless steel. Measuring 14.5mm thick and water-resistant to 100 meters, it retains the signature Norqain plate on the left side of the case, which can be personalized with an engraving. The watch is available with either a white rubber strap or a stainless-steel bracelet. Pricing is set at $6,490 on the bracelet. Limited to 500 pieces worldwide, the release includes an additional surprise. One watch has been designated as the winning piece, and its owner will receive a six-day trip for two to the Maldives. Norqain plans to reveal how the winning watch will be identified in September.
