Parmigiani Fleurier Unveils Tonda PF Minute Rattrapante Arctic Rose

Parmigiani Fleurier expands its Tonda PF collection with a new edition that pairs a captivating, light-shifting dial with one of the brand’s most ingenious mechanical creations.

When Parmigiani Fleurier introduced the original Tonda PF Minute Rattrapante in 2022, it stood out as one of the year’s most thoughtful technical developments—a refined mechanical solution that reimagined the GMT function with striking simplicity. Instead of multiple hands or subdials, the watch uses a pair of superimposed minute hands to set a second time zone in five- and one-minute increments. Once the second time zone information is no longer required, pressing the crown-integrated rose gold push button repositions the rhodium-plated hand on top of the gold hand in the same manner as a split-seconds chronograph hand, hence the name.

With the arrival of the new Tonda PF Minute Rattrapante Arctic Rose, that concept receives yet another bold aesthetic counterpart. The hypnotic “Arctic Rose” dial, hand-guilloché in the brand's signature grain-d’orge pattern, adds a vivid, constantly shifting hue that energizes the watch without compromising its understated, architectural lines.

The 40mm case pairs polished and satin-brushed stainless steel with a platinum knurled bezel, preserving the slim 10.7mm profile that has become a hallmark of the collection. Sapphire crystals on both sides ensure full visibility of the dial and movement, while the water resistance is rated to 60 meters. The bracelet, with alternating finishes echoing the case, integrates seamlessly and closes with a folding clasp.

At the heart of the watch beats the manufacture caliber PF052. The automatic manfuacture movement, equipped with a rose-gold micro-rotor, provides a 48-hour power reserve and operates at 3 Hz. Its 271 components include the sophisticated split-minute module—140 parts alone—whose elegant operation helped define the original model’s appeal. Finishing details such as Côtes de Genève, circular graining, and hand-finished anglage further underscore Parmigiani Fleurier’s commitment to restrained craftsmanship and quiet luxury.
