Swiss watchmaker Rado is introducing its second collaboration with German designer Marina Hoermanseder with the new Rado Captain Cook x Marina Hoermanseder Heartbeat. Taking inspiration from the bright culture of Berlin, the city that Hoermanseder calls home, the watch celebrates the designer's creative pulse. With a warm colorway and creative rainbow accents, the collaborative model is undeniably playful, all while exemplifying a thoroughly refined style.

The exterior of the watch is made from polished yellow gold-colored PVD coated steel, giving the model a rich tone. With dimensions of 37mm x 43.1mm x 11.1mm, the timepiece is versatile wearing on the wrist, making it an exceptional wearer for all wrist sizes. Against the warm color of the case is a polished white ceramic bezel, complementing the gold-toned colorway with metallic, laser engraved indices. This unique variant of the Captain Cook maintains the box-shaped sapphire crystal that is characteristic of the collection. The case is finished with a steel screw-down caseback that offers a water resistance of 100m.

Brightening up the watch is a white dial decorated with multi-colored and gold-toned accents. Around the periphery of the display are geometric indices for 12, 3, 6, and 9, while eight rainbow stones act as the makers for the remaining hours. At the 12 o’clock position is stylized Rado logo, featuring a yellow-gold-colored moving anchor symbol presented against a silver-colored backplate, while a printed Rado and Captain Cook script rest below. Ticking above the novel dial are polished and brushed steel hour and minute hands, while the seconds hand sports a unique shape that is reminiscent of a heartbeat on a monitor.

Inside the case of the Captain Cook is the automatic Rado caliber R763 with 25 jewels. The movement powers the three hands and a date window at 3 o’clock, while its anti-magnetic hairspring gives the model a power reserve of 80 hours.

The model is offered with three different bracelet and strap possibilities. The first option is a rice-grain-style, polished and brushed yellow-gold-color PVD-coated steel bracelet with a polished steel triple-fold clasp. The second is a black double-length leather NATO strap equipped with Hoermanseder’s trademark buckle in yellow-gold-color PVD-coated steel. The final option is a black standard-length leather strap with an embossed alligator-motif surface and a yellow-gold-color PVD-coated steel pin-buckle.
