Few partnerships in the watch industry are as closely tied to the underwater world as the one between Seiko Prospex and PADI. In 2026, the collaboration reaches two significant milestones: the 60th anniversary of PADI and the 10th anniversary of its partnership with Seiko Prospex. To commemorate the occasion, Seiko announces the Prospex Automatic Diver’s PADI 60th & Seiko 10th Anniversary Partnership Limited Edition, a colorful reinterpretation of one of the brand’s most recognizable dive watches.

The new limited edition celebrates the values that have united Seiko and PADI over the past decade: a passion for diving, exploration, and ocean conservation. As the world’s largest diver training organization, PADI has introduced millions of people to the underwater world while promoting responsible interaction with marine environments. That commitment is reflected in Seiko Prospex’s long-standing focus on professional-grade dive watches designed for real-world use beneath the surface, which started in 1965 with the introduction of Japan's first diver.

The anniversary edition draws its visual identity directly from PADI’s signature colors. Bold blue and red accents appear throughout the design, symbolizing the energy and diversity of the global diving community. Adding further depth to the design, the dial features a subtle pattern of latitude and longitude lines, evoking navigation at sea and the spirit of underwater exploration. At 3 o’clock, a day-date display provides everyday practicality and is enhanced by a loupe magnifier integrated into the anti-reflective sapphire crystal for improved legibility.

A newly developed blue ceramic bezel gives the watch a vibrant appearance, while also enhancing scratch resistance. The rich tone is intended to evoke the depth and clarity of the ocean, reinforcing the connection between the watch and its aquatic inspiration.

Additional commemorative details include subtle PADI branding and a special anniversary tag. Seiko also supplies an extra silicone strap designed specifically for underwater use. Its reinforced construction ensures flexibility and a secure fit over a wetsuit, making it a practical companion for diving activities.

For an anniversary celebrating Seiko's diving heritage, the Turtle is a fitting choice. Named by enthusiasts for its distinctive cushion-shaped case, the model has become one of the most recognizable watches in the Prospex collection. The 45mm steel case measures 13.2mm in height and has a water-resistance rating of 200 meters.

Legibility remains a hallmark of the design. Generous applications of LumiBrite on the bold hands and hour markers ensure excellent visibility in low-light conditions, whether underwater or on land. The watch is fitted with a bracelet featuring a secure folding clasp and diver’s extension.

Inside the watch beats Seiko’s automatic Caliber 4R36. Protected from magnetic fields, the movement features both automatic and manual winding capabilities, operates with Seiko’s Magic Lever winding system, and provides a power reserve of more than 41 hours.

The Seiko Prospex Automatic Diver’s PADI 60th & Seiko 10th Anniversary Partnership Limited Edition (Ref. HBB002K1) is limited to 8,000 pieces worldwide and will be available beginning in July 2026.

The watch is priced at $750 and is delivered in a special presentation box along with an additional silicone diving strap.
