Czapek will showcase two of its latest Antarctique designs— the Polar Sky and Flying Diamonds— at WatchTime New York 2024. The event, taking place next month from October 18 to 20 at Manhattan’s Gotham Hall, will welcome over thirty-five of the world’s leading watchmakers alongside their incredible creations and countless enthusiasts.

With the new duo, Czapek expands its extremely popular Antarctique collection, which since its debut in 2020 at the peak of the integrated sports watch craze has been a mainstay attraction for the brand. Still sporty in spirit, the two new watches are the most elegant of the collection to-date.

Both the Polar Sky and Flying Diamonds models are being launched in both the standard 40.5mm format and the S-type 38.5mm frame. No matter the size or dial type, each of the watches features the same distinctive steel silhouette— fully equipped with the distinct integrated look, extremely fine mix of brushed and polished finishing techniques, and the signature crown guard on the right side of the case. A distinct 120m of water resistance adds to the OG sports credentials of the timepieces.

The dials of the watches are where their differences lie. In the Polar Sky, a deep blue display produced from aventurine mimics the ice and sky of polar landscapes, in effect recalling the model’s namesake Antarctica. Antarctique-signature indices and hands enhance legibility through their sharp contrast, with the style lending to a clean, modern aesthetic.

Meanwhile, the Flying Diamonds version offers a more opulent take on the Antarctique concept. Taking the aventurine dial as a base, Czapek adds to it thirteen “floating” diamonds for the indices, with each of them seeming to fly through the night sky of the sparkling glass below them. The result is a timepiece that isn’t technically much different than the non-diamond edition, but one that regardless displays a sense of subtle elevation that’s been tastefully executed on the part of the watchmaker.

Inside each of the models is the SXH5 automatic movement, being the first movement to be entirely developed in-house by Czapek. The caliber features a skeletonized architecture that is visible through an exhibition caseback, in addition to a recycled platinum micro-rotor alongside the works in terms of haute horlogerie finishing techniques. In terms of technical specs, the automatic caliber has a frequency of 28,800 vph and hosts a 56-hour power reserve.
