Mediterranean Elegance: Parmigiani Fleurier Unveils the Tonda PF Sport Chronograph Rose Gold Sandstone
Parmigiani Fleurier continues to highlight its ideals in technical ability and understated design with its latest release: the Tonda PF Sport Chronograph Rose Gold Sandstone. Dressed in warm pink gold and fitted with a textured rubber strap in a hue called "Tufo," this chronograph works to capture the essence of horological summer sophistication.
Measuring 42mm in diameter and 12.9mm in thickness, the polished and satin-finished gold case offers a sleek profile for a chronograph. The knurled bezel, a signature of the Tonda PF collection, plays beautifully with reflections. With a water-resistance of up to 100 meters, a screw-down crown, and anti-reflective sapphire crystals on both sides, the watch is as functional as it is elegant.
At the heart of this elegant timepiece ticks the in-house PF070 caliber, a COSC-certified high-frequency automatic movement that beats at 36,000 vibrations per hour (5 Hz). It boasts a substantial 65-hour power reserve and is powered by a 22ct rose gold skeletonized rotor.
The dial, a blend of silver and sandstone, features a hand-guilloché "clou triangulaire" motif that catches the light in a warm and dynamic way. The subdials, subtly contrasting in sandstone tones, aim to evoke sunlit coastal landscapes.
Inspired by Mediterranean tuff stone, the integrated rubber strap in “Tufo” brings a unique tactile dimension to the watch. Mimicking the texture of Cordura fabric, the strap is durable yet elegant, enhanced by hand-sewn saddle stitching typically reserved for luxury leather straps. The warm, mineral tone reflects the lightness and cultural richness of the region’s volcanic rock, blending sportiness with refined craftsmanship.
