Hands-On Debut: TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph "Dato" In Teal Green

In the wake of last year's 60th anniversary of the Carrera, which TAG Heuer celebrated in grand style, the Swiss brand now presents the Carrera Chronograph with a teal green dial with the so called "Dato" style at this year's LVMH Watch Week. This special layout, inspired by a Carrera from 1968, places the date window at 9 o'clock and the 30-minute counter opposite it at 3 o'clock, lending the signature Carrera look a surprisingly different impression.

The ergonomics of the case, which measures 39 mm in diameter and is water resistant to 100 meters, has been subtly reworked. The dial, with a gracefully curved flange that seems to blend into the case, features circular brushed finishing, while the sub-dial at 3 o'clock showcases grooves.

It is protected by a domed sapphire Glassbox crystal, a feat from the '70s that TAG Heuer brought back last year. Engineered to have a curve that flows seamlessly over the flange, the structure runs along the edge of the dial, blending into the case.

The chronograph is powered by the automatic TH20-07 manufacture caliber with 80 hours of power reverse. The movement is revealed through the sapphire crystal case back.

Pricing for the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph "Dato" is $6,500.
