The Art of Nuance and Light: Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Automatic 36mm Alta Rosa

With the new Tonda PF Automatic 36mm in Alta Rosa, Parmigiani Fleurier continues to evolve its signature model through sophisticated hues. For the manufacture, color is not decoration but discipline, a calibrated exploration of light, proportion, and material that defines the identity of the Tonda PF collection.

Parmigiani Fleurier expands its Tonda PF Automatic 36mm with Alta Rosa, a new steel interpretation that underscores how central color has become to the brand’s contemporary design language. Rather than introducing a simple dial variation, the brand presents Alta Rosa as the continuation of a coherent chromatic and architectural research. At Parmigiani, each tone is conceived as part of a carefully built palette, not as a seasonal effect, but as an evolving vocabulary in which nuance, light, and proportion remain inseparable.

The Alta Rosa dial is defined by the collection’s signature Grain d’Orge guilloche pattern, a hand-applied motif treated not as ornamentation but as structure. The rose tone is restrained and mineral in character. Beneath the anti-reflective sapphire crystal, the surface tempers and diffuses reflections, creating depth without overt contrast. Applied 18-carat gold hour markers with rhodium plating and skeletonized delta-shaped hands tell the hours and minutes.

The 36mm steel case adheres to the familiar design language that has made the Tonda PF a contemporary reference for discreet luxury. Alternating polished and satin finishes emphasize the watch’s sculptural lines, while the platinum 950 knurled bezel, a defining element of the family, adds a tactile and visual signature. At 8.6mm thick and water-resistant to 100 meters, the watch maintains the versatility expected of the line. The integrated bracelet, finished to the same exacting standards, reinforces the cohesive, fluid profile that distinguishes the Tonda PF from more conventional sports-luxury designs.

Power comes from the automatic manufacture PF770 caliber, developed and produced in-house. Beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offering a 60-hour power reserve, the movement measures just 3.9mm in height, enabling the watch’s slim proportions. Visible through the sapphire caseback, the caliber displays Côtes de Genève decoration and hand-beveled bridges in keeping with haute horlogerie standards. The skeletonized 22-karat rose-gold oscillating weight, finished with polished and sandblasted surfaces, subtly echoes the warmth of the Alta Rosa dial.

The Tonda PF Automatic 36mm Alta Rosa (ref. PFC804-1020007-100182) is priced at $25,800 USD.
