Originally created exclusively for the Mexican market—one of Mido’s oldest and most important—the Commander Gradient Catrines marks the sixth special edition honoring Día de Muertos. Over the years, it has become one of the brand’s most sought-after pieces, often selling out on the very day of its release. Owing to increasing global demand, this new edition is now available in limited quantities worldwide. The signature skeleton motif, surrounded by flowers and rendered in bright, phosphorescent hues, stands out on the gradient dial by day and transforms under low light into a glowing, otherworldly display at night. Each color and detail evokes the festive yet deeply meaningful atmosphere of Día de Muertos, a celebration of remembrance and joy.

Sky blue, violet, turquoise, orange, navy, lime green, fuchsia, white, and light green—the Commander Gradient Catrines dial bursts with life. The iconic La Catrina figure, adorned with flowers, takes center stage within the timeless design of the Commander collection, which Mido has produced continuously since 1959. The transparent acrylic dial, featuring a black gradient toward the edges, reveals glimpses of the Caliber 80 beneath, including its date disk—a subtle reminder of the passage of time. After dark, Super-LumiNova on the multicolored indexes and faceted hands emits an enchanting blue-green glow.

Powering the Commander Gradient Catrines is the automatic Caliber 80 (based on ETA C07.611), offering up to 80 hours of power reserve. Its Nivachron balance spring ensures enhanced resistance to magnetic fields and shocks. Visible through the transparent caseback, the decorated movement features Geneva stripes and a signed oscillating weight.

The Mido Commander Gradient Catrines Special Edition is priced at $1390.
