Few roads have become as closely associated with American car culture as Route 66. Opened in 1926, the roughly 2,500-mile highway connected Chicago with the West Coast and became a symbol of the American road trip. In honor of its centennial, Meistersinger presents a limited-edition watch, combining its distinctive one-hand display with another icon of American motor culture: the Ford Mustang. The Edition Route 66 is limited to 100 pieces and comes with a 1:18-scale Mustang convertible.

Route 66 Colors and Mustang Details

For the first time, an automotive edition is built around the brand's №03 platform. Its stainless-steel case measures 43mm in diameter, giving the single-hand timepiece a substantial presence on the wrist. The dial provides the strongest visual link to the Mustang. Its two-layer design is inspired by the car’s wheels. The lower, matte-black layer features concentric circles, while six silver-colored spokes extend across the upper layer to create the impression of a stylized wheel. The automotive theme is complemented by a restrained combination of black, silver, red and white. The Meistersinger logo appears on a small oval plaque, while the historic Route 66 shield sits at 6 o’clock in red, white and blue. The single white hand features a red tip, with more red accents appearing on the minute track. As is typical for the German brand, the hours are indicated by two-digit numerals arranged around the dial, allowing the wearer to read the time to the nearest five minutes.

The Route 66 theme is also carried over to the back of the watch. The six-screw caseback features a semi-transparent depiction of the historic Route 66 shield, alongside the individual number of each watch in the 100-piece edition. Inside, Meistersinger uses the familiar Sellita SW200 automatic movement. It offers a power reserve of 38 hours and can be partially viewed through the mineral glass caseback.

The color scheme continues onto the strap. A black vintage saddle-leather strap is finished with red contrast stitching, echoing the accents on the dial. The Edition Route 66 is priced at €2,390 or approximately $2,720 when converted to USD.
