Meistersinger Launches the Edition Panthero Jumping Hour Guilloché

Limited to 25 pieces, the German brand presents an artisanal take on its Panthero Jumping Hour, first introduced earlier this year.

For a quarter of a century, Meistersinger has cultivated a distinctive way of telling time with single-hand watches — calm, deliberate, and removed from the relentless rhythm of seconds. To mark its 25th anniversary, the German brand introduced a first: a watch with a jumping hour. The Panthero Jumping Hour retains the single-hand principle, with one hand indicating the minutes. Rather than rotating from the center, it travels around a decentralized, applied minute track. The hour is displayed mechanically in a round aperture and jumps forward precisely every 60 minutes. A separate element rotating once per second forms a stylized sun, adding subtle movement to the dial while emphasizing the watch’s orientation. The new 25-piece Edition Panthero Jumping Hour Guilloché adds a distinctly artisanal dimension to this clarity-focused concept.

The Art of Guilloché

The Panthero’s distinctive dial architecture lends itself to different interpretations. With the Edition Jumping Hour Guilloché, Meistersinger creates a deliberate contrast to the watch’s modern mechanical display, pairing its unconventional time indication with traditional, hand-executed guilloché. Guillochage is among the most demanding traditional techniques in dial making. On old, manually operated machines, the intricate pattern is cut into the metal line by line. Rather than being produced by an automated process, the characteristic texture emerges from the precise interplay of machine, tool, and the guillocheur’s expertise. Experience, concentration, and a sure sense of every movement are essential.

The result is well worth the effort: the finely guilloched surface creates a subtle play of light on the wrist, bringing out the different facets of the light-blue tone. The applied decentralized minute track, hands and Meistersinger sun motif are finished in dark gray, providing a strong contrast against the dial. A cognac-colored calfskin strap with crocodile embossing and a folding clasp completes the color scheme.

Understated Elegance

The Panthero Jumping Hour Guilloché is housed in a 40.5mm stainless steel case. Its slim bezel and restrained case design reinforce the watch’s classic character, while the simply finished case sides keep the focus on the dial. A distinctive feature is the spiral-shaped crown. Inside, the automatic MS-JH-01 movement, based on the Sellita SW300 and equipped with a jumping-hour module, provides 47 hours of power reserve. An exhibition case back offers a view of the finely finished movement. The Edition Panthero Jumping Hour Guilloché (ED-PTJH914) is limited to 25 pieces worldwide and comes with an edition certificate. It is priced at €7,990 or approximately $7,950 and will be available from the end of the third quarter.
